Duluth Huskies Baseball.

Excited for the Duluth Huskies Baseball season to start.  Many Duluthians have had a long winter, as unusual as it has been with little snow and cold temps.  Still many of us are looking forward to the start of Summer and Huskies baseball.

The Duluth Huskies will open there season at home ( Wade Stadium) on May 30th at 7:05 pm.  The will take on the St. Cloud River Bats.  The Huskies are celebrating the 10th season in Duluth.  The Huskies started playing in 2002.  The Duluth Huskies came a few years after the Duluth Dukes left town, and have kept the long history of baseball going in Duluth.

The Huskies play in the North Woods League, it is a college wood bat league and emulates a minor league season.

In 2012 the Huskies will play 74 games, with 36 homes, 38 away games.  There two longest home stands will be June 4th to the 8th.  In that home stand they will play two games against the Mankato Moondogs and three games against Rochester Honkers.  Another 5 games home stand will take place July 18th to the 22nd in that home stand they will play two games against Thunder Bay Boarder Cats and then play three against the moondogs.

The NorthWoods League is split in to two division's the North and South, the Huskies play in the North division.

The north division teams include:  The Duluth Huskies, Alexandria Beetles, Mankato Moondogs, Rochester Honkers, St. Cloud River Bats, Thunder Bay Boarder Cats, Waterloo Bucks and the Willmar Stingers.

The South Division include:  Battle Creek Bombers, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Lacross Loggers, Eau Claire Express, Madision Mallards, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Waterloo Bucks.

The two divisions don't play each other in the regular season.  If you just can't to watch the Huskie like me you can watch some of last years games http://www.northwoodsleague.tv/.
